Blood Drive

Monday, October 26-Thursday, October 29, 2009
10:00am-4:00pm
Blood Mobiles will be located at the Oglesby Union Green and at the College of Information (Shores Building)

Students and members of student organizations are encouraged to donate blood during the week of Homecoming to the Southeastern Community Blood Center (SCBC) at the donation centers available on campus. The donated blood helps save lives. Please visit http://www.scbcinfo.org/donating/requirements.htm for more information on the requirements for donors and the safest ways to donate blood.

• Basic Requirements for All Donors:
  1. Have a photo I.D.
  2. Weigh at least 110 pounds.
  3. Have a good meal prior to donating.
  4. Not be taking antibiotics.
  5. Not have had a human bite, if it broke the skin.
  6. Not have gotten a tattoo in the past 12 months.
  7. Be at least 17 years of age; upper age 60.
  8. Be in generally good health and feeling well.

• DO NOT DONATE BLOOD IF:
  1. You have an infection.
  2. You have ever tested positive for HIV.
  3. You have ever injected yourself with drugs or other substances not prescribed by a physician.
